It is estimated that half of all pregnant women experience nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, making it one of the most common pregnancy symptoms (1). Despite its high prevalence, there is a lack of consensus on the definition of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy (NVP), which hampers research efforts. A systematic review was conducted to determine the prevalence of NVP and to identify factors associated with its occurrence.
