It has also struck deals with a number of major production companies, like Vivid, Wicked, and Digital Playground.

CamSoda is not the only company trying to build a business around live-streamed sex. Chaturbate, another San Francisco-based startup, has been operating a similar platform for years. But CamSoda is betting that its focus on creating a more interactive and immersive experience will help it stand out in a crowded field.

“What sets us apart is our focus on building a platform that is more interactive and engaging for both the performers and the viewers,” says Evans. “We want to create a community where people can connect with performers and other viewers, and where performers can build a following and generate income.”
